Giveaways FAQ

Giveaways are the main feature of the website. Visit the site at anytime and you will always see at least 2 of them running. But what are Giveaways and what types of Giveaways are there? This FAQ will answer all that and more including how to redeem a particular code.

Firstly lets me explain the basic and most common Giveaway. Basically the Giveaway will start but parts of the redeem code would be missing (For example: Q****-A**6Z-L*7PW) over time new parts will randomly be revealed. Once the full code is revealed you simply must be the first person to redeem it. Very simple. We also use sites such as SteamGifts so users can enter a giveaway and get an equal chance of winning regardless of when they visit the site.

As of February 2015 giveaways on SteamGifts will be hosted weekly. Entries will usually close at 6PM GMT on Wednesday and a new giveaway will start shortly after.

Steam Keys are used on the Valve Steam application to redeem game titles and other content. Although you can browse the Steam market from a web browser you cannot redeem a Steam Key with it, instead you must use the application which you can download and learn more about at the Steam Website. The download is only 1.5MB. You will also be required to register for or log-in to a Steam account.

To Redeem a Steam Key

• Launch the Steam client software and log into your Steam account
• Click the Games Menu.
• Choose Activate a Product on Steam...
• Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.

Origin keys are used on the EA Origin application to redeem game titles and other content. You can redeem keys on the Origin website or using the software which you can download at the Origin Website. You will also be required to register for or log-in to a EA account.

To Redeem a Origin Key (Using Origin)

• Log in to Origin with the EA account you would like your game added to.
• Click on the Origin menu on the top left.
• Select "Redeem Product Code."
• Enter the Origin Key and follow the steps.

Xbox codes are used on the Microsoft Xbox 360, Xbox ONE and Xbox.com to redeem game titles and other content. You can redeem codes on the Xbox Website or by using one of the consoles. You should own an Xbox 360 or Xbox ONE system and have a registered Mirosoft/Xbox account.

To Redeem a Xbox Code online

• On a computer, go to Redeem Code and click Sign In.
• Sign in with your Microsoft account.
• Click Redeem.
• Enter the 25-character code and click Confirm.

PlayStation codes are used on the Sony PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PSP and PS Vita systems to redeem game titles and other content. To Redeem a PlayStation Code online

• Sign in to your account.
• Select 'Redeem Prepaid Card' from the home page or go to the Account tab and select 'Redeem Prepaid Card' from the links on the left of the page.
• Enter the code and select 'Continue'
• The credit or content is now applied to your account.

Desura Keys are used on the Desura application and website to redeem game titles and other content. You can redeem codes simply by logging in to the website, alternatively you can download the Desura Software.

To Redeem a Desura Code

• Sign in to your account
• Visit Desura.com/gifts
• Enter code and click activate

Nitendo codes are used on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShop to redeem game titles and other content. You must own a 3DS or Wii U system to redeem a code and have the latest firmware to access the Eshop.

To Redeem a Nintendo Code (3DS)

• Launch the eShop
• Select "Settings / Other," then select "Redeem Download Code."
• Tap the box that says, "Enter a download code."
• Enter the code.

To Redeem a Nintendo Code (Wii U)

• Launch the eShop
• Select "Enter Download Code" located at the top of the screen.
• Enter the Download Code.

Amazon codes are used on the Amazon website to redeem Gift Codes and other content. To redeem a code you must have an Amazon account.

To Redeem a Amazon Code

• Go to Your Account.
• Click Apply a Gift Certificate to Your Account in the Payment & GC section.
• Enter your claim code and click Apply to Your Account.

Instant Giveaways are as different type of Giveaway, instead of waiting for parts of the codes to be revealed randomly we will instead publish the whole code or often "Claim this game" button instantly. This type of giveaway can happen on Cafe Points, Points2shop and LinusTechTips. We can do instant giveaways at any time so it helps to remain active and check up on the sites often.

Points Giveaways are exclusive to Points2shop. At any time a random Gold+ user can win a random number of points. Its the earliest and most basic of the giveaways and its truly random. If your a Gold+ member and are active on Points2shop then your chances of winning are high. There is also no limit to how many time you can win, some users who won multiple times over the years!
